Himalayan Salt Room
Halotherapy, also known as salt therapy, dates back to the 12th century. Modern dry salt therapy has its origins from the salt mines and caves in Europe and Russia. Nearly two centuries ago in Poland, a physician noticed something rather interesting about those who were toiling deep in the Wieliczka Salt Mine: They didn’t have lung issues like workers in other mines. So what are the benefits of Halotherapy and how does it work?
A device called a halogenerator grinds salt into microscopic particles and releases them into the air of the room. Once inhaled, these salt particles are claimed to absorb irritants, including allergens and toxins, from the respiratory system. This process is said to break up mucus and reduces inflammation, resulting in clear airways. Salt is also said to produce negative ions. This theoretically causes your body to release more serotonin, one of the chemicals behind feelings of happiness. The negative ions also increase energy levels, which yields a refreshing effect similar to the feeling of rejuvenation achieved from spending time in nature. Additionally, allowing salt-saturated air to flow over your body is said to naturally boost your skin’s hydration, leaving it feeling smoother and more even in tone. There’s also quite a bit of buzz about balancing out pH levels and clearing up eczema, too.
FAQ

infrared sauna - frequently asked questions

A full spectrum infrared sauna is a type of sauna that uses heaters that emit all three types of infrared radiation: far infrared, mid infrared, and near infrared. Each type of radiation offers its own unique benefits, making a full spectrum infrared sauna a versatile and effective way to improve overall health and well-being. 6 Carbon PureTech™ Near Zero EMF Heating Panels and 3 Full Spectrum Near Infrared Red Heat Emitters emit infrared wavelengths when they are heated up. These wavelengths penetrate the skin and heat the body from the inside out. A full-spectrum infrared sauna is designed to provide the benefits of all three types of infrared heaters, allowing users to potentially experience a broader range of therapeutic benefits.

Detoxification
Sweating is one of the body’s natural detoxification mechanisms, and saunas can help increase the amount of sweat produced, which can help flush out toxins and impurities. By promoting the release of toxins, a full spectrum infrared sauna may support a healthy immune system and improve overall health.

Weight loss
Infrared saunas are said to help increase metabolism and burn calories, which may help with weight loss. The heat from the sauna can cause an increase in heart rate, which in turn can cause an increase in metabolism. Additionally, sweating can help to burn calories, which can help to promote weight loss.

Pain relief
Another great benefit of full spectrum infrared saunas is pain relief. The sauna’s heat can cause an increase in blood flow, which can help reduce muscle and joint pain and inflammation, as well as bring oxygen and nutrients to the affected area.

Improved circulation
Infrared saunas are also said to help improve blood flow and oxygenation throughout the body, which may help reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease. Additionally, the heat can help to dilate blood vessels, which can help to lower blood pressure.

Relaxed Body and Mind
Infrared saunas help relax the body and mind, which may help reduce stress and promote a sense of well-being.

Cardiovascular health
Full spectrum infrared saunas have been found to lower blood pressure, improve heart rate variability, and improve overall cardiovascular health. The heat from the sauna can cause an increase in heart rate, which can help to improve cardiovascular fitness. The increased heart rate variability can also be an indicator of a healthy cardiovascular system.

Immune system support
The heat and sweating caused by an infrared sauna may help to boost the immune system by activating white blood cells and increasing the production of antibodies. This can help the body fight off infections and illnesses more effectively. On top of that, the heat may cause a slight fever-like response, which also activates the immune system.

Improved respiratory function
The heat and humidity of an infrared sauna may help improve respiratory function by loosening mucus and phlegm, making it easier to breathe. This can be especially beneficial for people with conditions such as asthma, bronchitis, and sinusitis. The heat may also help to reduce inflammation in the airways, which can help to reduce the severity of symptoms.

Improved athletic performance
The increased blood flow and oxygenation caused by an infrared sauna may improve athletic performance by allowing the muscles to work more efficiently. This can help reduce muscle soreness and fatigue and also speed up the recovery process after a workout.

Improved sleep
The relaxation and stress relief caused by an infrared sauna may improve sleep by reducing tension and promoting a more restful state. The heat may also cause a slight decrease in the body’s core temperature, which can help to signal to the body that it’s time to sleep.

Improved Skin Health & Anti-aging
The heat and sweating caused by an infrared sauna may improve skin health by opening up the pores and removing impurities.
On top of that, the increased collagen production caused by an infrared sauna may help to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, promoting a more youthful appearance. Collagen is a protein that gives skin its elasticity and firmness.

Wound healing
The increased blood flow caused by an infrared sauna may help to speed up the healing process of wounds by delivering oxygen and nutrients to the affected area. This can help to reduce inflammation and promote the growth of new tissue.

If you have an existing condition or aren’t quite sure if you should use an infrared sauna, we always recommend consulting your healthcare provider (especially those with a heart condition or who are prone to bleeding). If you have an insensitivity to heat, have a fever, have a condition that inhibits your ability to sweat or have a pacemaker or defibrillator – we don’t recommend using the infrared sauna.

Whilst most prescription medication is safe, some medications can affect your body’s ability to manage heat. It is best to speak with your healthcare provider before using the sauna if you are on prescription medication.

We don’t recommend drinking alcohol while in the sauna as it is important to stay hydrated. We recommend drinking water before, during and post sauna session.
If you have a heart condition, we recommend seeking advice from your healthcare provider prior to using the sauna.
